¡Hola! ¡Soy Carolina!

An elementary Spanish teacher like you, passionate about teaching Spanish as a new language to elementary students. I was born and raised in Cali, Colombia, and I’ve been dedicated to teaching for over 20 years.

I earned my degree in Modern Languages from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, and later completed a master’s in Intercultural Relations with a focus on education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

I currently teach Spanish to PreK through 3rd grade students at an independent school in Cambridge, MA. In my classes, stories are at the heart of everything. I love seeing my students make connections when they hear a story and begin to understand and use the language naturally. Teaching through stories not only makes language acquisition more meaningful, but also more fun.

I also truly enjoy connecting with other teachers who, like me, are looking for ways to make their classes more human, creative, and effective. Through my blog Fun For Spanish Teachers, social media, trainings, and conference presentations, I share ideas, resources, and lots of positive energy so we can continue growing as a community.

A fun fact (though not surprising if you know me)? I love coffee. Seriously. I don’t start my day without a good cup—and if it’s while chatting with fellow teachers, even better!

If you teach Spanish in elementary school, this space is for you too.
